The safe identification, storage and control of gas cylinders received at waste disposal and recycling sites can be an issue if staff and their Managers are unaware of the risks and dangers present.

Our Gas Safety at Waste Disposal & Recycling Sites (Operators) Workshop is an instructor-led training session for up to 20 delegates. It provides all the essential safety awareness information required to ensure that cylinders are deal with in a safe manner.

The 2 hour workshop is designed for:

• Street Cleansing Operatives responsible for the collection of fly-tipped and orphaned gas cylinders.
  
• Waste and Recycling Site Operatives for the handling and storage and repatriation of gas cylinders.
• Waste and Recycling Site Operatives for the repatriation of orphaned gas cylinders.

What You Will Learn

The workshop will enable participants to:

• Correctly identify gas cylinders
• Recognise how gas cylinders operate
• Be aware of the hazards of asphyxia
• Recognise the hazards posed by oxygen enrichment
• Identify flammability hazards
• Recognise the hazards of using incorrect manual handling techniques
• Re-assess current storage procedures in line with the relevant Guidance Notes
• Introduce safe working practices into their workplace

Workshop Price

The workshop is priced at £950 for up to 8 delegates, additional delegates at £80 per head. VAT is payable at the standard rate.

A maximum of 20 delegates may attend. Certificates of attendance and delegate workbooks will be issued.
