Oxy-fuel Gas Systems Maintenance Inspection Practical

Our Oxy-fuel Gas Systems Maintenance Inspection Practical Workshop gives participants the opportunity to further their learning by practising the safe set-up, leak test, shut-down and inspection of an oxy-fuel gas system in a practical environment.

Delegates will learn how to conduct formal inspections of oxy-fuel gas equipment and keep the necessary written records in accordance with the requirements of British Compressed Gases Association Code of Practice 7 (BCGA CP7).

The 3½ hour workshop is designed for staff, managers, supervisors, health and safety officers and risk managers who are responsible for the formal inspection of oxy-fuel gas systems.

Please note that prior to attending this workshop all delegates must have received safety awareness training. This is can be delivered in the traditional way by an instructor, or it can be completing online via e-learning. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

What You Will Learn

The workshop will enable participants to:

  • Correctly inspect oxy-fuel gas workstations
  • Identify functional differences between regulator types
  • Undertake a pre-use visual check on gas regulators
  • Select and fit the correct flashback arrestors
  • Identify the correct hoses to be fitted
  • Select the correct cutting torch and nozzle
  • Undertake functional tests on regulators
  • Undertake a reverse flow test on flashback arrestors and hose check valves
  • Carry out a leak test on a pressurised torch
  • Correctly leak test an oxy-fuel gas workstation
  • Recognise the need for safe shut-down procedures
  • Recognise the need to keep accurate inspection records

Workshop Price

The workshop is priced at £1040 for up to 8 delegates, additional delegates at £125 per head. VAT is payable at the standard rate.

A maximum of 12 delegates may attend. Certificates of attendance and delegate workbooks will be issued.
